The piece also takes on an architectural quality, offering a bird’s-eye blueprint of the drum set’s layout through its visual composition.
"Cause and Effect were the first words that popped into my mind when I saw this piece. Symmetry is again at play here for a motion used on the cymbals for endings of songs with double bass drum flurries under them. These “holds” at the ending of songs is musically known as a fermata. I’ve used this motion for ending the song “Come Sail Away” on stage for almost thirty years, and this is how it appears in this realm." - Todd Sucherman
